Sunday Reflections

Another Sunday and a new week to come, don't forget that it will be month of December soon and Christmas is just around the corner. Everyday I feel excited but somewhat missing to go back home because I really do enjoy Christmas vacation in the Philippines because it is incomparable.

Looking forward for hubby to get this coming Sunday off so that we can check out the church near us. I would also like to give to you these verses as it gives us an idea of what true giving is. As a christian, we are told to give generously. I would like to share with you 2 Cor. 9:6-15, it is wonderful verse that every Christian should know, here it is:

From Bible gateway:

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:
“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.”[a]

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

It is really important to give since we are told to give generously and we can help expand the kingdom of God through giving correctly. It is our heart that God sees every time we give. It is also important to just stay low and quiet when you do charity works since God is the one that will repay you. Indeed when we give, we will also reap. It is really storing up treasures in heaven where moth or rust will not destroy says in Matt.6:19. Have a pleasant weekends my friends!

Ofcourse, true christmas is not in celebrating it with eatables and have fun with friends. If we can share our little happiness with the poor and needy. And some of the things we enjoy which God gave us then thats going to be a true and special christmas.
