Feel Like A Million Bucks!

I feel like that whenever I have a grab of super sales, discounts, got a decent sleep where money can’t buy and most of all when my expectations are met. Well nothing much to get you off your feet, but I am just talking about my spending spree Lolz! Not in millions of course, but I have saved super big time on buying online which saved me money commuting, not swiping any card and most of all it was easy transaction.

This site offers baby stuffs and moms needs which is really what I needed because in due time I will give birth. What I like is that it offers free shipping delivery within India and the mode of payment was C.O.D. Where else can you get that? I mean, hello! For a minimum purchase of $3, your shipping is free, so who would not enjoy such privilege plus the idea that the transaction is easy once you placed the order, any minute the customer representative will call your number to confirm your order.

The process of delivery will take 4-7 days but when I order the last time, it took 5 business days. I am not in a hurry so this idea is good for me and besides their main office is way far from where we are so I still wonder how can their site still earn when the delivery or shipping is free of charge, oh how I wish they will remain like that!

I just didn’t mention the site for now since I will be reviewing it on my other blog so to protect it, I did not say about it at all here. Well, I am just happy, sharing this feeling to you. What more can I ask for, ahhh wishing to have more savings and money, sigh! I guess all of us need that!

Another Devastating Typhoon in the Philippines

Brace yourself for another typhoon especially if you’re in the Philippines. Pedring did caused a lot of property damages plus lives taken away even if how much the weather bureau or PAG-ASA announced that it will be a strong typhoon. I have been watching online news since I was living abroad and for me; I really feel the need to pray for my loved ones who are also affected by this uncomfortable situation. The hand of God is heavy for those who opposes Him or disobeys Him.

I am not surprised anymore that my country is always visited by typhoons within a year. But if the true people of God will pray for their country, God would spare, save and protect them from these calamities. Now another typhoon has entered the PAR (Philippine Area of responsibility) and it was moving towards the northern part of the Philippines.

They call this incoming typhoon Quiel which will be of the same wind strength as Pedring. A lot of farmers and fishermen’s livelihood had been in jeopardy and wants the help of the government to back them up for financial support due to their loses. I understood that it is never easy to plant, nurture and grow your crop, it takes time and a lot of money to invest, same as the fishermen.

Now that another typhoon is coming, I hope that people will be more careful and follow the instructions given to them by their local barangay officials. What is good is that Filipinos do help hand in hand when calamities such as this strike the country. I pray for more evacuation centers and responsive help of the community like those who can donate food, clothing and shelter for makeshifts just to ease the problem of most of our countrymen. We can surpass this trial once again if we will just help hand in hand.

The Value of your Money

Recession hits not only the third world countries but influential countries such as US and Europe. During this crisis, what is the best way to fight global recession and poverty? Every day I do hear people complain about prices of fuel always increasing. Aside from that, commercial goods and commodities tend to race with the competing value of gasoline.

From foods, to clothing to house rentals where these three are the basic requirements needed by man, we tend to do everything possible to make both ends meet. Some do hunt for two or more jobs. Others do tend to save money by cutting off other expenses and services they tend to just to cope up with everyday living.

The value of money these days seems to weaken and weaken. People should observe discipline and know how to tighten their belts so that they can survive. Spending less and saving more is the key. Here are some ways you can spend less and save more:

Spending Less:

What are the ways that we need to spend less with? Start with your food budget; instead of getting that brand you like, opt to something which is more economical or lesser in price. Instead of frequent buying to groceries and malls, visit the nearest local wet and dry market to buy your food. Prices in local market are cheaper because their rent is less and the variety to choose an item is plenty.

Going out for a movie is not economical these days, not unless you really have a budget. But if you are like me, I’d be skipping on movie dates and just settle back home and wait for the movies to be showed online or in television. We also skipped dining out since fees for dining in increased, not only on the tariff but also on the food selections. Home cooked meals will be better and healthier.

Buy only what is needed. When you go to a mall or grocery, be sure you have a list and strictly follow your list. This means no more impulsive buying for you. If you have a credit card, better maintain only one and surrender the rest of the cards. This is the main reasons why most people are buried in debt because they carry 3 to 5 credit cards and swipe them all till they worry the next payday. What is scary is that when their next payout is released, it’s not enough to cover their expenses and the tendency is debt growing in interests.

Walk and exercise if the place you have to go to is just a few blocks away rather than using your vehicle so that you can save some gas. When you don’t have any food stock in the fridge, you can also turn off your fridge for quite some time; this will also help cut off some electricity bills. See to it that there is no leak in your pipes so that you can save on water bills and schedule your laundry so that you won’t be spending too much on water and electricity.

Unplugging appliances not in use is also a good way to save electricity. For mommies here, schedule ironing clothes. Recycle those items that can still be use and keep those bottles and newspapers handy for junk shops, you can earn something from that. Next time, I will be posting on my blog what items can we still buy on a certain value.

Crimes Committed by Teenagers These Days

I was alarmed by the news that I happened to watch online and this is with regards to the youths of this generation. In the Philippines, we often heard about natural calamities, oil price hike, the fight of Manny Pacquiao, and the unending saga of putting the previous political figures into investigation for corrupt practices.

But within this week, it was really a wakeup call to pray for. Several incidents happen which is really disturbing because I didn’t expect that at an early age, youths of today will commit crimes such as murder, rape, stealing, cruelty to animals and so much more. Just a few days ago, they talk about these two young teenagers aged 13 and 16 who were gay and the latter killed the lover using a gun inside a mall. They call it a crime of PASSION, but for me, I call it a crime of INSANITY.

Another 12 year old teen raped a 3 year old girl and another youth who killed his mother and sister. Well, I am not surprised about what the Bible talks about in 2 Tim. 3:1-5 “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.”

God has already warned us about the days to come and this is obviously that generation who is disobedient to God. Parents should know how their kids are doing, the way they up bring their child mirrors themselves too. I do believe that if you spare the rod, you spoil the child. It talks about the right discipline that we have to apply for our kids, not to harm them but to correct them. But it is much more important that we raise our kids in accordance to the Word of God and teach them the right path as parents will serve as a good model to their children.

Media also plays a vital role here. Be careful of how your kids waste their time on playing online games which is of no moral value at all particularly if it is obviously showing violence. Students should focus more on their studies rather than plugging into social networking sites. I don’t believe that being a single parent or having a broken family makes a child gone wild. It depends on such individual, if he or she is going to take the challenges of life into a positive outcome.

Now the next question is, Will our government take into consideration to lower the level of age for committed crimes so that these youths will know how to be punished by what they did? Or will we just depend on Social welfare and rehabilitation? What is your take?
