Disappointed in Registration

I could not believe it.. it was really too much when hubby told me that when he tried to register the birth of our son, he waited for two hours to just find out that it will take 4 more months for the birth registration to be processed.

Photobucket

What????? I said what the heck? what if I wanted to apply passport for my son and register him in my country's embassy for the NSO so that I will also have a copy. You mean for four months we won't be able to get out of India? and if I wanted to take a vacation back to Philippines, I won't be able to do so for this coming December because of their so called slow process.

Up to now they say they are processing the registration of those born in month of July. It's pretty frustrating me because I really wanted to process my baby's passport and register him at the embassy. But I cannot do anything if this will be the case.

A lot of members I asked in a forum what to do, they say bribery is the solution. I don't like to impose such and never in my mind do I have to use that kind of trick just to solve the problem. I don't do bribery and I will never ask a person to influence fast processing. In fact, I don't think the latter is a good idea at all.

If I only knew how difficult the system here for registration, I would not like to give birth here but everything has a purpose and I cannot just do anything but to depend on God to help us. I may have to be still and be calm because ranting and complaining more can never help me also.

If you are a foreigner, let me just now remind and tell you that if you plan to give birth in India, this will happen to you, so better think again.

Sunday Reflections

Another Sunday and a new week to come, don't forget that it will be month of December soon and Christmas is just around the corner. Everyday I feel excited but somewhat missing to go back home because I really do enjoy Christmas vacation in the Philippines because it is incomparable.

Photobucket

Looking forward for hubby to get this coming Sunday off so that we can check out the church near us. I would also like to give to you these verses as it gives us an idea of what true giving is. As a christian, we are told to give generously. I would like to share with you 2 Cor. 9:6-15, it is wonderful verse that every Christian should know, here it is:

From Bible gateway:

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:
“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.”[a]

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

It is really important to give since we are told to give generously and we can help expand the kingdom of God through giving correctly. It is our heart that God sees every time we give. It is also important to just stay low and quiet when you do charity works since God is the one that will repay you. Indeed when we give, we will also reap. It is really storing up treasures in heaven where moth or rust will not destroy says in Matt.6:19. Have a pleasant weekends my friends!

Happy Thanksgiving Day

To my relatives in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving Day to you. In the Philippines we don't have this occasion although for me and my family, everyday is a thanksgiving day from the rising of the sun when you wake up , we already praise God for the life that He has given us.
Thanksgiving should be expressed everyday even if it is not a very good day because it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. I also thanked God for today is another answered prayer for me as He healed us all.

It will always be good to feel thankful rather than to complain and be sad. I realize that nothing so good will happen if I just frown and feel so blue about some problem in life. So I decided to give a smile and be thankful to God and be happy in life.

Clothes Galore

Yesterday I promised that I will be posting the clothes that hubby bought for me since I had my day off yesterday since MIL took care of our baby. This time, I will be posting the beautiful kurtis I selected at the mall to where we shopped and even the free items given to us when we purchase the clothes.

I really opted to choose clothes which has buttons and hook and eye so that it will be easier for me to breastfed baby. So without any further ado, here are those kurtis and chudidars.

Mommy's Day Out

It was a great sunny day today and hubby asked me if we can go out since I was really hesitant to buy some chudidar because most of my dress were not appropriate for breast feeding so I said I needed new clothes that can be open easily and those tops are with buttons or hook and eye.

cute emoticons

Indeed it was such a blessing that he bought me four wonderful pieces of my choice of chudidar as we hurriedly want to go back home since baby was just taken cared of by my MIL. I was really happy that this day, hubby was not so stingy about the prices that my clothes are since it was ranging from Rs 600 to Rs900.00 but he told me not to ask him again within 10 months, harharhar!

I appreciate the design and the textile of course and it is with a promo of free duppatta and stretchable pants per two purchase of chudidar clothes. This ready made clothes are fashionable that I also don't be worried to go to a tailor or look for a style since some chudidar sets are far more expensive than ready made chudidars.

After buying clothes, we headed for our weekly grocery and MIL called us to come back home since baby is already crying. I was missing our little one and I am very much eager to hold him and kiss him and give him some hug and feed him since I know he can easily detect that MIL is giving him only formulated milk, not from what he is used of which is breast milk. Another fun filling day and Praise God for this wonderful day and for the blessings.By the way, I will be posting these fabulous clothes by tomorrow's blog, so tired already!

Things to do but limited to do so

I have a lot of things in mind, ideas conceived but the problem is that I cannot implement it at the moment when I think of my present situation, taking care of baby, deciding when is the next step for me if I have to stay with my in-laws so that I won't be bothered of being alone when it comes to taking care of my little one.

Photobucket

Hubby usually goes to work and I will be left at home and my mind thinks crazy things that I can be upset sometimes when I don't stay strong. But when I think of God that He is always there for me, I get back on my knees to pray and He gives me the strength that I need.

I am also thinking that my blog will be stagnant also if I need to stay away and I will be offline or irregular online to check my emails, my article writing and so much more. I really do need to consider some breather so that when baby gets a bit bigger, at least I would not be worrying too much unlike the way I used to.

I don't know if I will be able to do blogging and do my hobby at the same time. But I was really aiming to earn money for Christmas is soon to come, but what else can I do, I am limited. I just think if I was back in my own country, it would have been easier or I am more comfortable.

Most of the times, my mind shouts a lot how much I need my mom to be by my side and help me with my little one. But I cannot do anything unless I have the money to take her here or for me to visit back home, when most of the time I feel homesick. It's not like before that when I was alone, I can do something. When I became a mother, it was different, it was more responsibility for me to think of and all I wanted is to be strong and get the day going.

Thirty-eight days before Christmas, I will surely miss the most happiest Christmas celebration of all, which is in the Philippines, sighhhh! Wishing we were all together for Christmas!

Pacquiao Vs. Marquez IV? Give me a break its, OA!

I told in my blog two days ago that Manny Pacquiao really won the Nov. 13, 2011 bout. I was really convinced that Manny did his best on that fight even if he did not knocked out Marquez on the last round. But that does not mean that I doubted his ability as a boxer.

A lot of Mexicans were dismayed when they heard the judges decision but little did they know that there is a video and photo circulating now in Youtube and Facebook about the dirty tricks that Manuel Marquez used against Manny Pacquiao.

I saw it during the fight but what I am not aware of is that Team Pacquiao did not complain about this dirty trick. I really don't think that Round 4 will be okay to pursue, for me it will be over acting, and corny already. It was already clear on this third round who is the real fighter and winner and that is Manny Pacquiao.

This is the sample video of who is the real winner

Seven more days to go and announce the winner

I am still not satisfied with the amount of people who participated on my own online contest but what else can I do, I don't usually advertise it to people since I don't have much time to do it online due to taking care of my baby.

But anyway, you folks still have the time to join my online contest before I end it up on Nov. 20, 2011. It's not big enough but something is still better than nothing right? you cannot just get $10 in the street as you walk.

You can still participate the contest by joining here: Jackie's Virtual Baby Shower $20 Give-Away Contest

Another Victory For Manny Pacquiao vs. Manuel Marquez

I am not an avid fan of boxing and I don't regularly follow the fights of Congressman Manny Pacquiao. But due to my friends who regularly follow and post events of Manny's fight, I got curious to check his latest fight and that was the third fight against Manuel Marquez of Mexico just this day.

At first round I can say that both boxers show great fight, exchanging blows and punches. Although some Filipinos were not that excited to see how the fight ends. Probably they must have been waiting for Manny to pulverize Marquez for the third time. I can say that Manny still did his job as a good fighter. He didn't take any advantage and show arrogantly towards his opponent.

Some say his performance as a boxer is deteriorating since he is not fully concentrated on his practice because he attends as a Congressman and also an actor to his television shows. But for me, he just do give time, the question is, when is he going to retire and take time to concentrate only on his field of interest, which is not about boxing. But I know that there will be another bout coming up which is Mayweather. Whether he fights him or not, its all up to PacMan.

I found this spreading over the internet showing how Manny Pacquiao won today. If this is true, just watch the fight since there will always be a replay online and you just need to surf it out what channel will give you best.

Got this posted from my Facebook friend

Anyway Congratulations once again to PacMan (Congressman Manny Pacquiao) who did make his country proud. Another milestone of his career as a boxer and has proven himself a gentleman inside and outside the ring.

What's so Auspicious on 11/11/11?

I remember what my first gynecologist say when I have my very first prenatal check-up, she said I will give birth on Eleven-eleven-eleven, meaning Nov. 11, 2011 which stands for 11/11/11 (month/day/year) which they say is auspicious date.

Photobucket

But what is really so auspicious about this date. What I know is that it has a record of its own, in triplicate form, meaning lucky for most. Anyway, going back to her prediction, it did not happen since I did not give birth on that date but a month earlier.

I really have no regret about giving birth earlier. I just missed the month of my father's birth month which is also in November but I am thankful for what He has done for me and for my family.

Okay, so going back again to Nov. 11, 2011. People are busy thinking what to do on this special day, most pregnant ladies here in India wants to schedule their labor on this day, others like wedding and something special for an occasion, they also want to establish a date and reserve it for this exciting event as they say.

For me, days gone by so fast, God holds the future and what is important is to give to God this day before you start your day, you have to thank God for this day that you are alive and well and He is the one that sustains you and provides all you need.

By the way, I browsed online and found out that there was a movie also of the same given title. Normally, people are so superstitious about dates and they will do anything to make their belief surpass their expectations, be it an ordinary man or a businessman, they treat special dates with something to hold on to. But for us, what is important is to give the best to God on a daily basis of your life, living a life which will please God.

Going Back to my Old Hobby

I was happy to receive the aida cloths that my MIL bought. I find it hard to find here in the city particularly I am not familiar with the shops here to where it is available. Now that I have the textile, the next step I need is to have a good pattern and buy corresponding threads.

Aida Cloths in three colors, pink, yellow and off white
aida cloth

I haven't seen any DMC threads yet, all I see was Anchor threads so I needed to look online to convert the DMC numbers into equivalent Anchor numbers. If you don't know what I am talking about, I am talking about Cross stitching.

Aida Cloth for only Rs40 a meter
cross stitch 1

Ever since College, it was one of my favorite hobby. I do sew different designs and patterns and gift it to my friends and family. My mother appreciated most of what I sew and up till now, my work of art was at home and I am missing it so much that I asked hubby if I can sew again and he said no problem.

I just hope I can complete my collection first, from patterns, to threads and needles to begin my work. I am thinking of doing Christmas designs and gift it to my friends. I am also thinking of making book marks and coasters that they can use.

Happy To See my New PR

I could not believe my eyes when I opened my website HangoutwithJhing. It was zero PR (Page Rank) before, but when I tried to login back and I checked the tool I have on my chrome and it says PR 2. I could not believe how it spiked to 2 since it was 0 before, probably the best consideration I have was the online contests that I have shared here and the pages that I update everyday which makes more visits.

http://zaazu.com

I am also thankful for the PR 2 of my food blog which even if not updated on a regular basis, I make sure that I keep in touch with my readers through their comments and whenever I share exciting and wonderful recipes.

I am not that skillful in SEO yet, but this is really a nice move for me to continue what I have in mind to keep my status up and going. Thanks to Google and to my wonderful advertising tool, it does make a good improvement on my page rank.

A need for a new webcam

Our webcam has been used for years and I was not needing much to upgrade such gadget although whenever we use skype to chat online with my folks back home, we do notice that the camera flickers with a lot of white noise background which is very annoying to look at.

cute emoticons

Hubby just ordered online and let's see what it may give us an advantage. I wasn't able to pick up the name of the brand since hubby ordered it online while I was busy attending to baby's need. Anyway hope that the resolution will be just fine as well as the speed of it.

I do feel incomplete and lacking if I don't seem to talk to my family back home. In fact I feel homesick already, probably it is one of the annoying feeling of Postnatal period, arghh! The hormones may have caused me to feel a bit more sad and feeling all alone.

I only grab the courage everyday to God who is always there for me and my family. I have nothing else to turn to during these moments. I am just so thankful everyday for the love of God that He is always protecting and guiding me and my family. Will be posting the picture of the camera soon and together with the specifications, about a review, I will but I will be posting it on my other blog site. Have a happy Sunday today!

Plaque of Appreciation

Two days ago hubby handed me his plaque of appreciation from 3G. It was a MNC company that caters communication services in UK.

plaque1

It was another milestone for hubby to retain his work in such great company. We have been blessed by God and we are thankful also for this appreciation although still wishing that he will also level up in status of work there.

Anyway, as long as he is happy with his current job and he is competent enough to finish his goals, I am all through out supporting him.

plaque2

Thank you 3G for the wonderful plaque and the incentives you give your employees. God bless.

DFA bans 41 countries for OFW Deployment

Before, DFA(Department of Foreign Affairs) used to ban countries that has issues like civil war and compromises the security of OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers)particularly the recent issues in countries like Libya,Syria and other Middle East countries.

cute emoticons

Now they have added 41 countries in their list because of reasons that does not abide law with regards to RA10022. I really felt sad about it, but I do hope they will be able to give other OFW's a chance to work somewhere else since there is not much job vacancy in the Philippines.

Here is the list of the 41 countries covered by the OFW deployment ban:

Name of country and number of OFWs based on the POEA Compendium of OFW Statistics (2010)

1. Afghanistan (21)
2. Antigua and Barbuda (10)
3. Barbados (21)
4. Cambodia (1,499)
5. Cayman Islands (929)
6. Chad (807)
7. Croatia (33)
8. Cuba (555)
9. North Korea - N/A (combined with S. Korea 11,697)
10. Dominica - N/A
11. East Timor/Timor Leste (1,208)
12. Eritrea (26)
13. Haiti (153)
14. India (842)
15. Iraq (N/A)
16. Kyrgyzstan (25)
17. Lebanon (1,327)
18. Lesotho (43)
19. Libya (11,604)
20. Mali (145)
21. Mauritania (67)
22. Montenegro (5)
23. Mozambique (566)
24. Nauru (10)
25. Nepal (10)
26. Niger (N/A)
27. Pakistan (383)
28. Palestine (N/A)
29. Serbia (3)
30. St. Kitts and Nevis (4)
31. St. Lucia (3)
32. St. Vincent & the Grenadines (8)
33. Sudan (1,441)
34. Swaziland (49)
35. Tajikistan (N/A)
36. Tonga (6)
37. Turks and Caicos (74)
38. Tuvalu (N/A)
39. US Virgin Islands (82)
40. Vanuatu (39)
41. Zimbabwe (19)

Cited as unsuitable for Filipino workers and these countries does not abide the International convention to protect migrant workers particularly Filipinos.

Out of these 41 countries, there are 22 countries with international operating companies that is said to honor Republic Act 10022, so only 256 OFW's will be affected.

DFA will just finish the contract of the said OFWs in these banned countries and the next step is to work on the bilateral agreement in the Middle Eastern countries where there are more cases of OFW abuse.

Get ready for sleep deprivation

Well my system is still adjusting being a new mommy and this includes the sleeping and waking hours of our baby. I do tend to keep myself awake when he is awake and sleep whenever he sleeps.

Photobucket

But since there are still things to do at home and there is no one to turn to whenever hubby goes back to work, I find it so hard because I feel tense and stressed about it whenever I feel so alone and that I wanted someone to be with me to accompany me, teach me things I should have known even more and being a first time mom is the most nerve wrecking for me. I really do appreciate now my mom and wish that she will just be here with me to take care of me or assist me.

But anyway, I cannot do much but just talk to them online. I will be expecting my MIL to arrive after five days and I will really appreciate it since she will be a great help for me since I don't want to rush working since my mom said to keep calm and don't tend to do heavy work which is never gonna be good to my body.Hoping to update as much of what my other blogs need whenever mom in law arrives.

August pay from FoodieBlogroll

This is the second payout I got from foodie blogroll. I don't usually get excited to it but it was still fun to receive such an amount. It was a revenue sharing program that once you are a member of their site and you have submitted to them your blog site, once they approve it, you will get a chance to put an ads on your own site.

I don't have any idea about how they compute the sharing program but anyway as long as I get something out of it, I am already happy to it. It was really too small to pay for the price for a months traffic, but what else can I put up with since they pay you anyway without a threshold and they will pay you three months behind.

So that is why, what I posted here was their payment from the month of August and obviously, you can check that the pay was given just yesterday. Anyway, I would still like to thank Foodie blogroll for the payout, wish I can do better to add my revenue.

Enjoying Vouchers and Free Coupons

Hubby just started to like free vouchers and coupons he gets online. At first, it was a free gift offered at his office where he can choose to buy something he like. I don't know what it will be but the voucher was given as his birthday gift. He still did not claim it yet although what he did enjoyed today was the free coupon given by Makemytrip.com.

cute emoticons

It was a site where he reserved my mom-in-laws flight via booking it online. When he checked his email, he got a free coupon from Firstcry.com courtesy of Makemytrip.com. If you remember, we did purchase online on firstcry.com so he got excited to get a Rs300.00 worth of coupon that he can purchase on the site.

Without any hesitation, he did use the free coupon and purchased a nose cleaner for baby and it was worth Rs350.00 so he did just pay Rs50 since his coupon is worth Rs300.00 It will be delivered after 3 business days and the item is worth it since we already purchased from this site.
